A Reiki training class is a course where a person becomes initiated to the powerful Japanese healing technique of Reiki (pronounced ray-kee). Discovered by Dr. Mikao Usui around 1922, the term Reiki meansREIKI ‘Universal Life Force Energy’ in Japanese. This healing life force energy, which is present all around us, flows through a Reiki practitioner once he or she has been attuned (r initiated) to Reiki in a training class or course. Once the Reiki student has been opened up to this energy, he or she can then act like a conduit for this powerful vibrational frequency we call Reiki to flow through them. The energy can move to themselves and their healing, to other people and animals, and to situations and objects. Virtually anything can be given Reiki! We all want to be happy yet often feelings like disappointment, embarrassment, irritation, resentment, anger, jealousy, and fear fill our daily life, disturbing our peace and happiness of mind. Not feeling “good enough” can saturate very air we breath. Do you think being “Happy” is possible! Yessss!!! When we try to really work with these difficult emotions, instead of being hooked they can open up a path to peace, creativity, happiness and a vibrant compassion for ourselves and others. Let’s commit ourselves and welcome the New Year with Reiki and simple meditation towards “Happy self”. There are a lot of misconceptions about what meditation is and what meditation isn’t. Some people believe you have to be religious to meditate; that you have to sit in uncomfortable positions for hours on end trying to achieve enlightenment, well that’s simply not true. Meditation enables our thoughts to clear and when we have clarity we can become far more productive and creative in every aspect of our lives.  Its very simple – Lets Just sit comfortably with closed eyes and start observing your body from bottom to top for few seconds.  Slowly take your attention to your breath and check each and every breath, just be like a witness and simply glide into magical journey of meditation.  Gently observe yourself again, come back after few min.  amazing isn’t 🙂  Don’t forget to share your experience with me if you like.

Power of Mudras

Although Yog Mudras can be used for healing of certain ailments; regular practice of mudras will contribute to your overall good health and can be used as a preventive measure. It is recommended that Mudras should be performed in sitting position with both hands resting on thighs open to the ceiling. Few more mudras :

apan-mudraApan mudra: Join tips of ring finger, middle finger and thumb and keep the other two fingers straight. Keep very gentle pressure on joined tips and rest of the hand relaxed. Practice it for 20-30 minutes every day. It is beneficial for removing kidney stones, kidney problems, piles and helps in removing all toxins from the body.vyan-mudra Vyan mudra: Join tips of index finger, middle finger and thumb and keep other two fingers straight. Keep very gentle pressure on joined tips and rest of the hand relaxed. Practice only for 15 to 20 minutes every day. Gradually it will remove stress and cure high blood pressure.

Mudras for Energy flow and healing.

Mudras mean gestures adopted during pranayams and meditations that directs flow of energy into our body. Yogic say that these mudra yoga techniques stimulate different areas of the brain and helps in healing.

Hand yoga mudra and their benefits: There are many different yoga mudras and each of them have a different benefit. Below is the explaination to each.

  1. Gyan Mudra: This is the first yoga mudra pose known as Gyan Mudra or the Mudra of Knowledge

2. Pran Mudra – Mudra of life : This is a very important mudra as it activates the energy in your body. Practice it every day. pranmudra

How to do it?

This yoga mudra pose should be accompanied along with padmasana. Bend your ring finger and little finger and touch the tip of both these fingers with the tip of your thumb.

There is no specific time to perform this asana. Any time of the day will be suitable.

Benefits:

  • This mudra improves your immune system.
  • It also increases your eye power and also cures any sort if eye diseases.
  • It reduces fatigue and tiredness.
